Known locally as Asima Gardens, this patch of green may be small but it makes a big impression among the towering skyscrapers that surround it. Whether you pack a picnic lunch or just want to take some time to relax, this is the perfect destination. Abu Dhabi has a reputation as a thoroughly modern city. When the wide boulevards and tall buildings were being planned, the city designers were also careful to include plenty of urban parks throughout the city. Today, the Capital Gardens are one of 20 such oases that can be found throughout Abu Dhabi. It blends the city’s Middle Eastern culture with a modern approach to landscape and garden design. Typical of a city that is known for its magnificent skyscrapers, the gardens are surrounded on all sides by massive office buildings. However, the inside of the park is completely peaceful. At its center, you’ll find a large pond that periodically spouts brilliant water displays from its fountains.
